Hospital Pharmacist - Brisbane Waters & Gosford

About the role

Slade Pharmacy is recruiting a pharmacist for a 12-month contract covering maternity leave, starting in January 2027. The pharmacist works weekday-only shifts at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital and Gosford Private Hospital, about 13 km apart, with no weekend or on-call commitments. The role suits pharmacists moving into hospital pharmacy and experienced hospital pharmacists seeking broader clinical exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Work with doctors, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to optimise medication management and support patient outcomes.
• Conduct medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation.
• Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products.
• Coordinate patient medication needs for inpatients, day infusions and discharge.
• Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders and support patients, carers and staff.
• Educate staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and safe use of medicines.
• Complete monthly reports.

Required profile

• Australian working rights valid for the duration of the contract.
• General registration with AHPRA with no restrictions on practice.
• Minimum 1 year of Australian practice experience; community pharmacists are welcome.
• Desirable: hospital or clinical pharmacy experience.
• Ability to work the rostered shifts at both locations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
• Patient-centred approach, attention to detail and confident communication with patients and healthcare professionals.
