Home Care Employee - South Illawarra

About the role

IRT, a community-owned provider of independent living, aged care and home care, is looking for kind-hearted and empathetic home care employees to support its customers in the ACT area. The role is Grade 4B, Monday to Friday with some weekends, and hours vary between 7am and 5pm. The aim is to help customers stay independent and live well in their own homes.

Key responsibilities

• Personal care and showering
• Medication assistance
• Cooking and food preparation
• Transporting customers to appointments and social engagements
• Providing companionship
• Helping customers continue to live well in their own home

Required profile

• Certificate III or IV in Ageing (Individual Support) or equivalent, with an accredited Medication Competency
• At least 500 hours of professional home care and/or aged care experience
• Full driver's licence and a fully insured car; international licence holders asked to apply for an Australian licence within 3 months
• Current First Aid certificate and CPR, or willingness to obtain them
• Availability to work weekdays
