Home Care Employee - Peakhurst

About the role

IRT, a community-owned provider of independent living, aged care and home care, is looking for kind-hearted and empathetic home care employees in the Peakhurst area. The role supports customers so they can stay in their own homes, maintaining their independence and quality of life through personalised care tailored to their health, happiness and interests.

Key responsibilities

• Domestic assistance such as cleaning, tidying and organising
• Personal care and showering
• Medication assistance
• Cooking and food preparation
• Transporting customers to appointments and social engagements
• Providing companionship
• Helping customers continue to live well in their own home

Required profile

• Full driver's licence and a fully insured car
• Certificate III or IV in Ageing (Individual Support) is highly regarded; entry-level applicants are welcome
• An accredited Medication Competency certificate is a nice-to-have
• Current First Aid certificate and CPR, or willingness to obtain them
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a second language is a bonus
• Resilience, ability to work independently and availability for weekdays
• Empathy and a passion for supporting older Australians
