Home Care Employee - Bermagui

About the role

IRT, a community-owned provider of independent living, aged care and home care, is looking for kind-hearted and empathetic home care employees in the Bermagui area. The role supports IRT customers with personalised care that promotes their well-being, independence and engagement in activities suited to their health, happiness and interests, so they can stay in their own homes.

Key responsibilities

• Personal care and showering
• Medication assistance
• Cooking and food preparation
• Transporting customers to appointments and social engagements
• Providing companionship
• Helping customers continue to live well in their own home

Required profile

• Grade 3 or 4B position based in the Bermagui area
• Certificate III or IV in Ageing (or equivalent)
• At least 3 months of experience in home care and/or aged care
• Full or provisional driver's licence and a fully insured car
• Current First Aid certificate and CPR, or willingness to obtain them
• Availability Monday to Friday, with some weekends; hours vary between 7am and 5pm

Required skills

• An accredited Medication Competency (nice to have)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a second language is a bonus
• Resilience and ability to work independently
