Home Care Employee - Batemans Bay

About the role

IRT, a community-owned provider of independent living, aged care and home care, is looking for kind-hearted and empathetic home care employees in the Batemans Bay area. The role supports customers so they can stay in their own homes, maintaining their independence and quality of life. Multiple permanent part-time positions are available for entry-level (Grade 1) and experienced (Grades 2, 3 and 4B) employees.

Key responsibilities

• Domestic assistance such as cleaning, tidying and organising
• Personal care and showering
• Cooking and food preparation
• Transporting customers to appointments and social engagements
• Providing companionship
• Helping customers continue to live well in their own home

Required profile

• Located in the Batemans Bay area
• At least 3 months of professional home care and/or aged care experience
• Full driver's licence and a fully insured car; international licence holders asked to apply for an Australian licence within 3 months
• Current First Aid certificate and CPR, or willingness to obtain them
• Available to work Monday to Friday, hours varying between 7am and 5pm
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a second language is a bonus

Required skills

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or IV, or equivalent, is a nice to have
• Resilience and ability to work independently
