Histopathology Laboratory Assistant – Full-time

About the role

We are looking for motivated, detail‑focused individuals to join our histology team on the afternoon and night shifts. The role supports the preparation of tissue samples for diagnostic assessment in a busy pathology laboratory, offering structured laboratory work and a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process specimens in accordance with laboratory procedures.
• Enter accurate data into the Histology accessioning system.
• Provide general assistance to dissection staff as required.
• Collaborate with specimen reception and main laboratory areas.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Effective teamwork and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and efficiency.
• Availability to start between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, Monday‑Friday, with a rotating weekend roster after training.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Histology accessioning system for data entry.
• Experience or willingness to learn specimen processing in a histopathology laboratory.
