HF Node Maintenance Technician

About the role

Babcock is looking for an HF Node Maintenance Technician to support one of Australia's critical Defence communications capabilities. You will maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair the equipment and infrastructure behind the Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS), contributing to the sustainment of the existing network and the rollout of the Enhanced DHFCS capability.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair equipment and infrastructure supporting the DHFCS
• Diagnose faults and investigate problems in the communications systems
• Support engineering activities and collaborate with a skilled team
• Complete technical documentation and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Required profile

• Experience across electronics, communications or electrical maintenance, with strong fault-finding skills
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and follow engineering standards
• Current or previous AGSVA Security Clearance, and eligibility to obtain the appropriate Commonwealth Personnel Security Clearance under AGSVA guidelines
• Ability to reside in the Exmouth region
• Eligibility to work with US and Australian export-controlled technology, with ITAR and Defence Trade Controls compliance assessed
