Heavy Rigid Driver – Livestock Transport

About the role

We are looking for an HR Driver to join our transport team in Warrnambool, Victoria. The role involves safely moving livestock using Heavy Rigid vehicles while supporting yard operations and adhering to animal welfare standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate Heavy Rigid (HR) vehicles for local livestock transport.
• Load, unload and handle livestock in line with welfare standards and company procedures.
• Assist with yard operations, including livestock movement and preparation for transport.
• Conduct pre‑start checks and basic vehicle inspections, reporting faults promptly.
• Follow designated routes, schedules and operational instructions while complying with road safety and fatigue management requirements.
• Maintain accurate transport records and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members and stakeholders.
• Participate in structured training, mentoring and competency assessments, progressing towards HC/B‑Double and B‑Triple operations.

Required profile

• Current HR Driver licence.
• Demonstrated safe driving record.
• Ability or willingness to learn livestock handling techniques.
• Strong work ethic, reliability and punctuality.
• Willingness to follow a structured career progression pathway.
• Understanding of fatigue management and compliance requirements.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills.
• Physical ability to perform manual loading/unloading tasks.
