Healthcare Manager

About the role

This is a key leadership position within QBE’s People Risk Claims business. You will lead a team of Injury Management Specialists and shape the delivery of healthcare services across Workers Compensation and Compulsory Third Party claims in several Australian jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate a team of Injury Management Specialists to achieve strong customer and business outcomes.
• Implement injury management strategies that improve return‑to‑work and recovery results.
• Provide expert technical guidance and coaching to raise team capability.
• Manage complex, high‑value claims and oversee strategy and resolution.
• Monitor rehabilitation and treatment provider performance for quality, value and effectiveness.
• Identify trends and insights to drive continuous improvement in claims performance.
• Control cost drivers across treatment, rehabilitation and medico‑legal services.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and industry partners.
• Represent QBE in external forums and contribute to broader healthcare and claims strategy.
• Ensure compliance with legislative and policy requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in personal injury or People Risk Claims, or strong exposure to the healthcare/rehabilitation ecosystem.
• Proven people‑leadership capability.
• Track record of delivering initiatives that improve customer outcomes and operational performance.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Commercial and analytical mindset with ability to balance cost, quality, risk and customer outcomes.
