Head of Supply Chain and Procurement

About the role

This senior position will establish and lead a centralised supply chain and procurement function for Built Living, an integrated design, manufacturing and construction business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a centralised operating model, including category structures, governance, systems and reporting.
• Develop end‑to‑end strategies for subcontract trades, building materials, manufactured components and logistics.
• Lead major sourcing, tendering and negotiation activities, including long‑term agreements and supplier panels.
• Drive value through aggregation, standardisation, direct sourcing, forward buying and make‑versus‑buy analysis.
• Build and manage a high‑performing supplier and trade partner network measured against cost, quality, delivery, capacity, safety and sustainability.
• Partner with design, engineering, manufacturing and delivery teams to embed cost, availability, lead time and buildability into early decisions.
• Protect continuity of supply through capacity planning, dual sourcing, forward contracting and proactive risk management.
• Recruit, develop and scale the team, processes and supplier ecosystem as the business grows.

Required profile

• Senior procurement or supply chain leader with experience in construction, residential development, manufacturing or a vertically integrated builder.
• Proven track record of centralising fragmented procurement models and building teams and systems.
• Strong commercial capability in complex negotiations, sourcing and category management.
• Financial expertise in cost modelling, landed cost, budgeting and contract risk reporting.
• Collaborative approach with ability to influence across design, manufacturing, construction, commercial and finance functions.
• Exposure to DfMA, modular, prefabricated or off‑site manufacturing, residential delivery, ERP implementation or international sourcing is highly regarded.
