Head of Cybersecurity

About the role

Accent Group is looking for a strategic and hands‑on Head of Cybersecurity to lead and evolve its enterprise security capability across a fast‑growing retail organisation. The role will be responsible for developing, implementing and embedding a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy that protects information assets, systems and networks while supporting innovation and business growth. You will work closely with Technology, Legal and Executive leadership to embed security into every layer of the business, from store operations to digital commerce.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver a cybersecurity roadmap aligned with organisational objectives and industry best practice.
• Lead, mentor and grow a high‑performing cybersecurity team, fostering a proactive, risk‑based mindset.
• Conduct ongoing risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies.
• Design, implement and maintain a robust, scalable security architecture and oversee security‑related technologies.
• Develop and maintain an incident response framework and lead coordinated responses to security events.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, standards and legal obligations across the enterprise.
• Champion a strong security culture through organisation‑wide awareness and training initiatives.
• Evaluate and manage third‑party security practices to minimise external risk exposure.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to embed secure practices into technology and business processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a cybersecurity function in a large, multi‑site organisation.
• Strong expertise in risk management, security architecture and incident response.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic cybersecurity roadmap.
• Experience ensuring regulatory compliance and managing third‑party security risk.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to work across technology, legal and executive teams.
