Head and Neck Research and Clinical Trials Manager

About the role

Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, a comprehensive cancer centre in Camperdown, Sydney, is looking for a Head and Neck Research and Clinical Trials Manager. The role sits at the heart of trials that shape outcomes for people living with head and neck cancer. It is a 12-month maximum term opportunity, with the possibility of extension depending on operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of head and neck clinical trials, from site set-up and ethics submissions through to close-out and reporting.
• Act as the main liaison between investigators, sponsors and regulatory bodies to ensure protocol compliance and audit readiness.
• Coordinate patient recruitment, consent processes and data integrity in line with ICH-GCP standards.
• Support new trial submissions and contribute to grant applications and academic outputs.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience managing clinical trials in an oncology or specialist hospital setting.
• Proven ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists.
• A tertiary qualification in a health science, nursing or related discipline.
• Legal right to work in Australia; no sponsorship is offered.
• Current working with children check (WWCC).
• Police check not older than 6 months, or willingness to obtain one.
• Compliance with Category A health worker immunisation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines, TGA requirements and HREC processes.
• Experience with clinical trial management systems and research governance frameworks.
• Strong organisational skills to manage concurrent protocols without compromising data quality.
