Hardware System Engineer – Night Shift (Exmouth, WA)

About the role
Northrop Grumman Australia is looking for a Hardware System Engineer to join the DARC program in Exmouth, WA. You will work on a small, highly capable onsite team that keeps mission‑critical systems running during live, night‑shift operations supporting space domain awareness.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and patch Linux servers, monitor performance and apply fixes.
- Support Cisco‑based network infrastructure, including routing and switching.
- Manage user access, resolve issues, and provide real‑time technical assistance to mission operators.
- Troubleshoot system incidents end‑to‑end to restore availability quickly.
- Collaborate with US‑based teams and the Integrated Remote Operations Centre during operations.
- Make on‑site decisions and handle incidents during night‑shift roster.
Required profile
- Proven experience in Linux system administration and infrastructure support.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking fundamentals (routing, switching).
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and take ownership of incidents.
- Willingness to work night shifts and relocate to Exmouth.
- Australian citizenship with a minimum NV1 security clearance.
