GST Tax Specialist - Financial Services

About the role

EY is hiring an Indirect Tax Specialist (GST) based in Warringah, Sydney, to work with global and local financial services organisations. You will help them navigate an increasingly complex tax landscape, advising on indirect tax issues and working with developing technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Help clients manage their indirect tax risks and comply efficiently with regulatory requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve clients' overall indirect tax position
• Identify risk areas through assurance reviews and due diligence reviews
• Assist in delivering data analytics and tax technology services
• Work across multiple projects and clients, advising on key indirect tax issues

Required profile

• Experience in indirect tax, preferably from a law firm or a professional services accounting firm
• A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement and using technology to deliver better client outcomes
• Willingness to learn; not all listed skills are required

Required skills

• Technical experience in a key indirect tax such as GST and/or Stamp Duty
• Previous exposure to client ERPs such as SAP, Oracle and JDE is beneficial but not essential
