Graduate Software Developer

About the role

As a Graduate Developer at NextGen, you will join a collaborative fintech team building SaaS solutions for mortgage processing and Open Banking. You will work alongside experienced engineers, product managers and designers to develop secure, customer‑focused software.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain scalable software using modern languages and frameworks under senior guidance.
• Write clean, maintainable code and unit tests, following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with product, design and QA teams to deliver features on time.
• Troubleshoot production issues, contribute to incident reviews and follow‑up actions.
• Engage in mentoring, training and hands‑on learning of development lifecycle and CI/CD practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Basic understanding of web frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) and RESTful APIs is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of version control (Git) and interest in CI/CD pipelines.
