Graduate Rehabilitation Counsellor 2027

About the role

KINNECT, Australia's largest privately owned occupational health provider, is recruiting graduate Rehabilitation Counsellors for its 2027 Graduate Program, open across Australia including regional Queensland. The program offers a structured 12-month pathway with supervision, mentoring and a peer network, designed for people new to workplace rehabilitation.

Key responsibilities

• Support injured workers through the psychosocial and vocational side of recovery, helping them return to work
• Assess the psychosocial, vocational and environmental factors affecting an injured worker's recovery
• Provide counselling and goal-setting support to address barriers to return to work
• Facilitate communication between injured workers, employers, insurers and treating practitioners
• Develop tailored return-to-work plans and case manage complex claims with comprehensive reporting
• Conduct vocational and employability assessments, including labour market research and transferable skills analysis

Required profile

• Registration or accreditation as a Rehabilitation Counsellor, or eligibility for registration by commencement at KINNECT: ASORC (Affiliate, NSW roles only), ASORC (full) or RCCAA (full)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to problem solve and work well in a dynamic team
