Graduate Marketing Assistant – Media Buying

About the role

A Sydney media agency that covers planning, buying and strategy for a roster of leading brands is looking for a graduate to join its Client Partners team. This is a hands-on introduction to how advertising campaigns come together, working on real campaigns from the first step through to the final results, alongside experienced media specialists who will train you.

Key responsibilities

• Source planning rates from media partners and help brief partners and the investment team
• Collect specs and material deadlines, send instructions to media partners and keep creative agencies on track
• Track live placements so what runs matches what was booked
• Prepare pre- and in-campaign reports for clients and compile post-analysis
• Lead mid- and end-of-month invoicing reconciliations, job closures and budget updates
• Gather proof of posting and tear sheets for non-TV campaigns and load offline channels for invoicing
• Run weekly partner presentations, maintain the contact list and media kits, and build relationships with junior contacts at media partners
• Maintain the WIP, attend WIP meetings and capture contact reports

Required profile

• A relevant degree, ideally with an internship or exposure to media, marketing or an agency environment
• Attention to detail, as numbers, bookings and invoices must line up
• Comfort with numbers and spreadsheets, and the commercial sense behind reconciliations
• Clear written and spoken communication with partners, agencies and your team
• Organisation and curiosity about how media, audience and measurement tools are used
