Graduate / Junior AGV Engineer

About the role

Dematic's Mobile Automation team in Adelaide is looking for a Graduate or Junior AGV Engineer to work with its Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) technology. You will gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of AGV systems, including testing, integration, commissioning, troubleshooting and customer support, alongside experienced engineers. The role is permanent and hybrid, with hybrid working available after initial training and some travel to customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers by investigating, resolving and escalating Mobile Automation system issues while keeping them informed
• Manage incidents and project tasks to meet deadlines, budgets and quality standards
• Build relationships with customers, including training operators and client personnel
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and reports
• Commission AGVs on site and assist senior engineers with costing, scheduling and ordering hardware and equipment
• Perform system upgrades and configuration of computer hardware
• Test and integrate AGV and PLC systems
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and support on-call and the wider team

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics or Industrial Automation
• Experience in electrical design and installation
• Full Australian working rights
• Strong communication, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a team

Required skills

• Knowledge of configuration, programming and commissioning of AGV PLCs (desirable)
• Technical writing (desirable)
• Knowledge of PCs and basic programming
