Graduate Engineer (Mechanical/HVAC)

About the role

This early‑career position supports the Pacific Applied Operations team in designing, selecting, estimating and delivering applied HVAC solutions for data centre, commercial, industrial and mission‑critical projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with application, design and selection of chillers, air handling units and other HVAC equipment.
• Review customer specifications, schedules and drawings to identify technical requirements, risks and compliance gaps.
• Prepare equipment selections, technical calculations, schedules, drawings, submittals, estimates and proposals.
• Liaise with Johnson Controls factories, internal product teams and third‑party suppliers on compliance, pricing and delivery.
• Support project handover and execution, including design reviews, procurement inputs and resolution of technical queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline, recently completed or near completion.
• Fundamental knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer and HVAC systems.
• Strong numerical, analytical and structured problem‑solving capability with attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
• Full Australian working rights; a current Australian driver licence is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel.
• Exposure to CAD, BIM or HVAC selection software (advantageous).
