About the role
A hospital in Coastal, South Australia is recruiting a General Practitioner Visiting Medical Officer for a locum position covering November 2026 through January 2027. The work involves seeing all admitted patients in the wards and patients presented to the emergency department, with very occasional surgical assistance in an emergency.
Key responsibilities
- See all admitted patients in the wards and patients presented to the ED
- Provide surgical assistance in an emergency (very rare)
- Work shifts of 0800-2000, with on-call duty 2000-0800
Required profile
- Fellowship of the RACGP or ACRRM
- Up-to-date emergency certificates
- AHPRA registration
What we offer
- Pay of up to $2,900 per day
- Flights, car and accommodation provided
- Shifts scheduled from late November 2026 through early January 2027, with several blocks of seven or nine shifts each
