GIS Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a driven GIS Analyst to join ACCIONA’s Melbourne team, delivering cutting‑edge geospatial solutions for major infrastructure projects across Australia. You will work at the intersection of data, engineering and innovation, turning complex spatial data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise FME Form/Workbench workflows to process large, complex datasets.
• Deploy and manage automated data pipelines using FME Flow.
• Deliver high‑quality spatial analysis, validation and transformation across diverse systems.
• Partner with engineers, project teams and stakeholders to provide fit‑for‑purpose geospatial solutions.
• Ensure data integrity and spatial accuracy, including coordinate system management and transformations.
• Work with various formats such as geodatabases, shapefiles and CAD integrations.
• Drive best practice in geospatial ETL design, automation and scalable solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in GIS, IT, Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent GIS work experience.
• Experience in design consultancy is an advantage.
• Proven ability to design, develop, test and maintain FME Form/Workbench workflows.
• Basic knowledge of ArcPy.
• Practical exposure to spatial decision‑support workflows (suitability, feasibility, weighted overlay, network tracing) in urban planning, water‑wastewater or environmental contexts.
• Familiarity with the ArcGIS ecosystem (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise) and integration of GIS outputs into project workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the capacity to work independently on complex technical challenges.
