Generalist Engineer I NV1 Cleared

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Generalist Engineer to join a small technical team supporting a Federal Government client in Canberra. This hands‑on, mid‑level position focuses on systems integration, build, and production support while offering opportunities to develop project management and PMO skills.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate existing software components and applications into automated installation packages for scheduled updates.
• Build, administer, and support production systems at Level 3, prioritising tasks using service support tools.
• Design and document system builds, and review and advise on interfacing systems within defined timeframes.
• Provide weekly progress reports to the client using online reporting tools.
• Collaborate with the Solutions Architect and Security Specialist on each production release.

Required profile

• Australian citizen holding an active NV1 security clearance (mandatory).
• Operate at SFIA level 5 in Systems Integration and Build (SINT) or have equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Experience with software packaging, deployment automation, and scripting across server and endpoint environments.
• Level 3 technical support experience on production systems, using ITSM tools.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation for system builds and designs.
• Desirable experience in secure Government ICT environments.
