General Practitioner (Civilian) – Cerberus Health Centre

About the role

Serco, through its partnership with Bupa, provides integrated on-base healthcare to Australian Defence Force personnel across 45+ locations. This General Practitioner position is based at the Cerberus Health Centre, located at HMAS Cerberus in Western Port near Crib Point. The base supports about 4,000 personnel and trains around 6,000 recruits annually; the Health Centre offers primary medical, outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmacy care, plus a 30-bed low-dependency ward open 24/7. The role is civilian, with standard hours 07:30-15:30 Monday to Friday and weekday and weekend on-call shifts equally shared.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members
• In an occupational medicine setting, conduct fitness-for-duty assessments and pre- and post-deployment care, as well as injury management, chronic disease management and preventative health
• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment focused on patient wellness

Required profile

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner
• FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration
• At least two years' GP experience in the last five years in a GP setting (GPT counts)
• CPR certification (HLTAID009) within the last 12 months
• Australian citizenship (baseline security clearance)
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
