General Medicine Consultant - Remote Regional Hospital, Queensland

About the role

JPS Medical is recruiting on behalf of a key regional referral hospital in North West Queensland for a full-time General Medicine Consultant. The service covers a vast, geographically dispersed catchment with a wide range of acute and chronic presentations, and offers broad-scope practice in a supportive consultant-led environment integrated with Emergency and critical care. The role suits physicians who want responsibility, professional independence and a defined regional leadership position.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute general medicine to a large remote catchment
• Work closely with the Emergency Department and coordinate retrieval and transfers
• Contribute to multidisciplinary care and subspecialty outreach support
• Exercise significant consultant autonomy in a regional setting

Required profile

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in General Medicine
• Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility
• International medical graduates assessed by the RACP as partially or substantially comparable
