Fund Formation Associate – Sydney

About the role

The Fund Formation Associate will join a leading international law firm’s Sydney office, working within a team that advises top private equity, infrastructure, real estate and private credit sponsors on the creation and operation of investment funds. This role offers exposure to sophisticated domestic and cross‑border mandates and provides a platform to develop within a growing private capital practice.

Key responsibilities

• Advise sponsors on the establishment, structuring and ongoing administration of investment funds.
• Support transactions across private equity, infrastructure, real estate and private credit sectors.
• Manage domestic and cross‑border fund formation matters, coordinating with international teams.
• Prepare and review legal documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide commercial insight to clients throughout the fund lifecycle.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in a law firm.
• Demonstrated experience in investment funds or fund formation at a leading Australian, UK or international law firm.
• Strong technical and commercial abilities.
