Fund Accountant

About the role

An established investment management business is looking to appoint a Fund Accountant to join its Melbourne team. The role offers broad exposure and genuine ownership across the fund accounting lifecycle, within a collaborative environment and with exposure to a growing part of the private markets sector. Candidates can also help improve systems, reporting and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage fund accounting and periodic close processes
• Prepare NAV and unit pricing calculations, investor allocations and distributions
• Carry out cash, investment and loan reconciliations
• Account for loan investments, including interest, fees and provisions
• Support financial statement preparation and investor reporting
• Manage investor transactions including subscriptions, redemptions and distributions
• Support BAS, tax calculations and other fund tax requirements
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisers and external service providers
• Work closely with investment and operations teams
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualification, or progress towards completion
• 3+ years' experience in fund accounting or investment accounting
• Experience in private credit, real estate debt or similar investment structures is highly regarded
• Strong understanding of fund structures and financial reporting requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong stakeholder communication skills
