Full-Time/Part-Time Cook / Kitchen Hand

About the role

A privately owned early childhood education and care service in Annandale is looking for a passionate and professional cook/kitchen hand. The kitchen serves 56 children per day, providing morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. The service has recently received an Excellent rating from ACECQA.

Key responsibilities

• Heat and serve food for each class group, making sure allergy and dietary requirements are met
• Manage the kitchen, prepare for each meal and clean up after meals
• Launder all linen on site, including bibs, face washers, sheets, tablecloths and soft furnishings
• Help purchase kitchen and centre consumables, including food supplies, nappies and cleaning chemicals

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, such as a childcare centre, aged care or similar environment
• Experience providing allergy-safe food
• Current Working with Children Check
• Food Safety Supervisor course qualification or willingness to obtain one
• First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
