Full Stack Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join a fast‑growing Melbourne‑based technology venture. You will work on a live, high‑performance production environment that powers AI model inference and real‑time user interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain services that handle model inference, user requests, and streaming responses.
• Implement reliability mechanisms such as rate limiting, retries, and graceful failure handling.
• Design authentication and access‑control systems for public‑scale usage.
• Improve latency, throughput, and overall reliability of model serving.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and training engineers to integrate new model checkpoints.
• Create logging, tracing, and evaluation signals to monitor system behavior.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience building production software.
• Strong computer‑science fundamentals and a passion for engineering excellence.
• Calm under production incidents and enjoys debugging real systems.
• Rigor to design systems that are hard to break and understand the full AI stack.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• API development and service interface design.
• System design for stability under load.
• Implementation of rate limiting, retries, and authentication mechanisms.
• Observability: reading logs, metrics, tracing, and performance profiling.
