Full Stack Analyst Programmer (Django & React)

About the role

Healius is seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to join its Pathology Applications team. You will design, develop and maintain complex web‑based software that supports pathology laboratory systems across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain full‑stack web applications using Django and React within an agile framework.
• Design and implement new features based on business and technical specifications.
• Investigate and resolve software defects reported by users and stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement practices.
• Collaborate with development, UX/UI, quality‑control testing and application specialist teams.
• Ensure solutions meet quality, security, governance and SDLC standards.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and organisational information.
• Support a positive, respectful team culture and adhere to health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of software development experience.
• At least 12 months experience working with a Pathology Laboratory Information System.
• Strong full‑stack development background using Python (Django) and React (TypeScript/JavaScript).
• Experience with PostgreSQL/SQL databases and Unix/Linux environments.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem‑solving, debugging and time‑management skills.
• Familiarity with Docker and Git.
• Exposure to HL7 messaging standards (e.g., AS4700.2).
