Frontend Developer I (Remote)

About the role

Hiredbuddy is looking for a Frontend Developer I to join its team and build engaging, responsive web experiences. You will work with modern JavaScript frameworks, turn designs into pixel-perfect interfaces and collaborate with designers, backend developers and product managers. This is a remote, entry-level position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive web pages using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Implement designs from Figma or Sketch, ensuring visual accuracy and cross-browser compatibility.
• Work with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and present data.
• Write clean, documented code and take part in code reviews, testing and debugging.
• Optimise applications for speed and scalability, and keep up with emerging frontend technologies.
• Work in an agile environment, attend stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives, and help maintain component libraries and design systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve UI issues reported by users or QA.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0-2 years of frontend experience; internships or personal projects count.
• A portfolio or GitHub repository showing frontend work is highly encouraged.
• Ability to work independently and manage time in a remote setting, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Familiarity with at least one modern framework such as React, Vue or Angular.
• Responsive design and mobile-first approach.
• Basic knowledge of Git and version control; SASS or LESS is a plus.
• Knowledge of RESTful services and asynchronous request handling.
