Freight Forwarder – Import Sea

About the role

DSV is looking for a motivated Freight Forwarder to join its Import Sea team in Melbourne. You will support the end‑to‑end movement of import door consignments, ensuring documentation is accurate and shipments flow smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the shared Import mailbox, flagging and escalating issues promptly.
• Liaise with carriers, shipping lines and origin offices to obtain missing documents and shipment details.
• Assist in chasing Delivery Orders and coordinate with depots and consolidators.
• Maintain accurate filing of shipment documentation such as HBL/MBL, invoices, packing lists and DOs.
• Update shipment data in the system and support transport bookings, timeslot allocation and POD collection under supervision.
• Prepare pre‑alerts, send customer notifications and help resolve delays or exceptions.

Required profile

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a shared mailbox effectively.
• Good written communication and professional email etiquette.
• Proactive mindset with confidence in following up carriers and origin partners.
• High attention to detail and willingness to learn freight‑forwarding systems and processes.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment and escalate issues when needed.
• Interest in developing into a full Import Sea Transport Operator.
