Food Services Assistant – Part‑time & Casual

About the role

Royal Freemasons is seeking enthusiastic Food Services Assistants to join the Monash Gardens team in Mulgrave. The role is ideal for individuals who enjoy a flexible, part‑time or casual schedule and want to make a positive impact on the daily lives of older Australians by delivering high‑quality meals in a caring environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clean, well‑presented dining rooms and service areas.
• Prepare, plate, and serve meals in accordance with the Food Safety Program.
• Ensure each resident receives the correct meal according to dietary and specialised nutritional requirements.
• Provide courteous, person‑centred service during meal times, responding to resident preferences and queries.
• Assist with the set‑up and breakdown of dining spaces, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met.

Required profile

• Experience in hospitality, food services, or aged‑care environments (preferred but not essential).
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Reliability, organisational skills, and a commitment to hygiene and safety.
• Genuine passion for supporting older people.
• Valid Police Clearance or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
• Proof of three‑dose COVID‑19 vaccination (required before start).
• Food Handling Certificate.
