Food and Beverage Team Leader – Part Time

About the role

Join the dynamic Food & Beverage team at Novotel Melbourne South Wharf, a four‑star hotel with restaurant, bar, café and in‑room dining services. As a Team Leader you will guide staff during busy periods, ensure smooth operations and deliver memorable guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the team during peak service times, supervising restaurant, bar and in‑room dining operations.
• Prepare and serve quality espresso coffee, cocktails and other beverages while handling cash and POS transactions.
• Work closely with the kitchen to ensure seamless food and beverage delivery and maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and food safety.
• Monitor rosters and staff schedules to meet operational requirements.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a restaurant, café, bar or hotel food & beverage environment.
• Leadership experience or the confidence to step into a junior supervisory role.
• Friendly, outgoing attitude with excellent communication skills and flexibility to work breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Current RSA certificate (or willingness to obtain) and valid Australian working rights.

Required skills

• Strong barista skills, including espresso coffee preparation.
• Cocktail mixing and bar service expertise.
• Cash handling and POS transaction experience.
