First Nations Liaison Officer (Entry Level)

About the role

MSS Security is recruiting First Nations Liaison Officers to support the Transperth rail network in Western Australia. This is an entry-level role with no security licence required. You will be a visible, approachable presence on trains and at stations, engaging with customers and helping First Nations people and other vulnerable members of the community feel welcome and supported.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to passengers and visitors across the rail network.
• Engage with First Nations people and act as a trusted point of contact for those seeking assistance.
• Patrol train stations and travel on train services throughout the network.
• Respond to requests for assistance from operational staff and support vulnerable and at-risk individuals by connecting them with appropriate services.
• Help de-escalate incidents through effective communication and relationship building.
• Report suspicious, anti-social or concerning behaviour to relevant authorities.
• Build positive relationships with community organisations, outreach services, shelters, charities and emergency services.

Required profile

• Experience in community services, security, customer service, social support, youth work, health care or a related field (highly regarded).
• Commitment to cultural awareness, inclusion and community engagement.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
