Fire Technician – Maintenance & Service

About the role

Join Johnson Controls in Cairns as a Fire Technician, responsible for maintaining, servicing, fault‑finding, repairing and installing a wide range of fire protection systems and equipment for diverse customers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and recommend fire protection and safety solutions.
• Service, maintain, troubleshoot and repair fire protection systems and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance in line with Australian Standards.
• Complete installations and system upgrades as required.
• Ensure all work complies with WHS requirements and is completed safely and efficiently.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑focused approach with commitment to service excellence.
• Current Queensland Electrical Licence (QBCC) and relevant industry qualifications.
• Experience servicing and maintaining fire protection systems.
• Excellent planning, scheduling and time‑management abilities.
• Solid understanding of WHS legislation and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team.
