Financial Controller (Perth)

About the role

Aries Rail is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its finance and administration functions across its national operations. Based in Perth, the role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and supports strategic decision‑making through financial analysis and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, including P&L against budget, balance‑sheet reconciliations and cash‑flow reporting.
• Conduct variance analysis and develop executive KPI dashboards linking financial and operational drivers.
• Manage intercompany eliminations, month‑end close and intercompany reconciliation processes.
• Provide financial input into strategic planning, business development and board‑level financial packs.
• Drive automation and improve reporting efficiency while maintaining data integrity and governance.
• Oversee external audit, preparation of annual financial statements and compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Prepare and lodge all taxation requirements, including BAS and income tax filings.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, financial risk, accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Maintain financial relationships with suppliers and customers, including credit control and payment terms.
• Oversee payroll administration and ensure insurance policies remain current.
