Financial Controller – Part‑time (Gold Coast)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to join SPL Security Solutions on a part‑time, on‑site basis at our Gold Coast headquarters. The role will lead financial reporting, budgeting and cash‑flow management while ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end close process, including P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements.
• Prepare management reports and board packs on a timely basis.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting aligned with growth strategy.
• Maintain the general ledger, oversee BAS, FBT and other statutory reporting, and coordinate external audits.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, debtor management, creditor terms and working‑capital optimisation.
• Partner with operational leaders to improve margins, job profitability and cost control.
• Prepare investor updates, forecast communications and liaise with banks on debt servicing.
• Implement and monitor internal controls, risk mitigation and insurance reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial control, reporting and budgeting, preferably in a multi‑division business.
• Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory obligations (BAS, FBT).
• Ability to analyse variances, provide actionable insights and support senior leadership decision‑making.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder and investor interactions.
