Financial Controller – Manufacturing (PE-backed)

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join a fast‑growing, private‑equity backed manufacturing business in Sydney. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead financial reporting, governance and treasury functions, helping to scale the company’s finance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close, statutory, board and management reporting, and consolidations.
• Oversee GST, BAS, FBT, income tax, payroll tax and other regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain financial governance, internal controls, risk‑management frameworks and external audit processes.
• Manage treasury activities including cash‑flow forecasting, working‑capital optimisation and banking relationships.
• Own fixed‑asset, inventory and capital‑expenditure accounting for manufacturing operations.
• Mentor and develop the finance team while partnering with senior leadership on strategic decisions.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification, preferably with Big 4 or reputable mid‑tier experience.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager.
• Strong technical accounting expertise across reporting, compliance, tax and controls.
• Background in manufacturing, industrial or other inventory‑intensive environments.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high‑growth, private‑equity environment.
