Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function for designated investment platforms at Gunn Agri Partners. Reporting to the CFO – Platforms, you will oversee accounting, reporting, compliance and administration while mentoring a small finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end financial reporting for assigned platforms.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and management reports to support business performance.
• Oversee general finance operations, including cash‑flow management, banking relationships and debt facilities.
• Coordinate statutory reporting and external audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, taxation obligations and internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements across finance systems and workflows.
• Lead, coach and develop a small finance team.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide commercial financial advice and insights.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification with tertiary studies in Accounting or Finance.
• Extensive experience in financial control within a medium‑to‑large organisation.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience using Xero or similar cloud‑based accounting systems.
• Experience in accounting for agricultural entities is highly regarded.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Collaborative leadership style with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
