Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a high‑calibre Financial Controller to own the finance function for a leading Australian infrastructure and construction solutions provider. The role reports to senior leadership and offers strong exposure to strategic decision‑making as the business scales. Based in Rhodes, NSW, the office will relocate to Macquarie Park next year.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee weekly and monthly financial reporting, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and protect assets.
• Deliver accurate and timely financial statements and analysis to support senior leadership decisions.
• Manage end‑to‑end finance operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, and coordination with external auditors and regulators.
• Drive financial system improvements, ERP optimisation, audit preparation, and continuous improvement of finance processes and team capability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong technical accounting capability with knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in project accounting, including cost tracking, revenue recognition, and work‑in‑progress reporting.
• Understanding of commercial contracting principles.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
