Financial Controller

About the role

Aries Rail is seeking a Financial Controller to lead all financial and administrative functions across its national operations. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will provide critical financial insight to support strategic decisions and drive the company’s continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, including P&L, balance‑sheet reconciliations and cash‑flow statements.
• Conduct variance analysis and develop executive KPI dashboards linking financial and operational drivers.
• Provide financial input to strategic planning, business development and Board‑level presentations.
• Manage external audits, annual financial statements and ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Oversee cash‑flow, working capital, accounts receivable/payable and credit control.
• Supervise payroll, insurance policies and maintain robust financial systems and controls.
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance and administration team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial reporting, audit coordination and tax compliance.
• Strong analytical ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
• Leadership experience managing finance teams and collaborating with operational leaders.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP and CRM financial systems.
