Financial Controller – Australia & New Zealand

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the finance function for the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region of a global aviation services leader. Based in Mascot, Sydney and reporting to the CFO, the role combines technical accounting oversight with commercial partnership across a multi‑site operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the ANZ finance team covering Financial Reporting, Financial Control and Finance Business Partnering.
• Oversee statutory and management reporting, ensure balance‑sheet integrity and uphold financial governance.
• Maintain compliance with IFRS, tax and regulatory requirements in both Australia and New Zealand.
• Drive strong financial controls, governance and continuous improvement of finance processes.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide commercial insight and support strategic decision‑making.
• Develop and mentor a high‑performing finance leadership team while collaborating with regional and global stakeholders.

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualification (Chartered or Big 4 trained) with senior finance leadership experience in a large private or multinational organisation.
• Proven track record as a Financial Controller or equivalent, managing complex, multi‑site operations.
• Full working rights in Australia.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
