Financial Analyst

About the role

Lynas Rare Earths is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to support business decision‑making through insightful financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, you will work closely with operational leaders across the business, providing financial guidance and contributing to strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, financial analysis, and performance commentary.
• Analyse financial results and investigate variances against budgets, forecasts, and targets.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and long‑term financial plans.
• Develop financial models and cost‑benefit analyses to support business cases and investment decisions.
• Monitor operational costs, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and recommend process improvements.
• Partner with operational departments to provide commercial and financial support.
• Support month‑end and year‑end financial close processes.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data and reporting.
• Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
• Prepare ad‑hoc financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification (completed or in progress).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial analysis, management accounting, or corporate finance.
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, management reports, and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and commercial acumen.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Pronto, Microsoft Dynamics.
