Financial Accountant

About the role

Bundaberg Brewed Drinks is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join its Finance team in Bundaberg. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting across allocated entities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and all financial transactions.
• Coordinate and complete month‑end close processes, including eliminations, consolidations, balance‑sheet reconciliations, journal entries and accruals.
• Prepare and support month‑end and Board financial reporting requirements.
• Lead the treasury function, managing foreign currency exposure and conducting variance analysis.
• Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights and performance recommendations.
• Oversee asset management, lease accounting and insurance renewals across the BBD Group.
• Assist with external audits, income‑tax processes and implementation of audit recommendations.
• Support the annual budgeting process and finance improvement projects.
• Provide guidance and backup to the Assistant Accountant and other members of the accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• 5–7 years of experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role within a medium/large organisation, including consolidation and eliminations.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and familiarity with Australian accounting standards.
• High attention to detail, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Excellent time‑management and organisational capabilities.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
