Finance Officer

About the role

We are looking for experienced Finance Officers to join the Australian Taxation Office’s Finance Business line across a range of teams. The role involves delivering financial and accounting services, providing insight and decision support to internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring high‑quality financial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform financial and accounting activities in line with established guidelines and procedures.
• Provide advice and decision support to stakeholders to improve resource management.
• Prioritise work to meet competing deadlines and liaise with internal and external parties.
• Support administration of departmental accounts, corporate credit cards, travel and finance systems.
• Assist with budget management, forecasts, reconciliations, reporting and accruals.
• Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and enterprise platform support, including SAP Finance.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of finance and accounting principles.
• Ability to work under guidance of senior team members and collaborate across diverse teams.
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
