Finance Officer - Accounts Payable

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Finance Officer to join the existing Finance team at the Air Combat System Project Office (ACSPO), which manages the long-term sustainment, maintenance and logistics of Australia's F-35A fleet and its life-cycle support. The role works under limited direction, liaising with Air Force and civilian stakeholders and acting as a point of contact for accounts payable inquiries. It is based at RAAF Base Williamtown, near Newcastle, NSW, with weekly hours of Monday to Friday (40 hours) and occasional Friday work from home depending on task requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process a high volume of international supplier invoices accurately, with correct coding and compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements
• Verify funds availability before payments and escalate discrepancies where required
• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and ad-hoc financial adjustments
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support audit and reporting
• Collaborate with team members to manage workflow, resolve invoice discrepancies and improve transactional processes
• Respond to internal and external accounts payable queries promptly and professionally
• Contribute to internal controls by following procedures and identifying potential issues

Required profile

• Active NV1 security clearance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex and evolving environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing work demand
• High attention to detail and effective teamwork

• Compliance with Acquisition and Sustainment, Procurement Reform, ERP and NDS requirements
• Accurate, timely processing of a high volume of international invoices with minimal errors
