Finance Manager – Regional Queensland Projects

About the role

CPB Contractors is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join upcoming construction projects across regional Queensland. The role operates autonomously on a roster, ensuring the financial integrity of each project through robust processes and best‑practice decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control all project accounting systems and processes.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial and management reports.
• Ensure budgets and forecasts are accurate and delivered on schedule.
• Manage month‑end accruals, auditing requirements and payments to creditors and sub‑contractors.
• Coordinate monthly project claims, invoicing and supporting documentation.
• Oversee cash‑flow, balance‑sheet, audit and tax reporting requirements.
• Lead the project finance team, developing capability and driving performance.
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business (preferred) and CPA accreditation.
• Proven experience in a similar finance role within the construction industry.
• Ability to interpret legislation, regulations and contractual guidelines.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and application.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management.

Required skills

• JDEdwards accounting system experience.
• Technical accounting expertise.
