Finance Manager - Innovation

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager – Innovation on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract (potentially permanent) to support our global innovation agenda. Based in Sydney or Melbourne, you will partner with the Global Innovation Director to turn bold ideas into profitable launches.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end financial management of the global innovation portfolio, including the Innovation Shadow P&L.
• Partner with the Global Innovation Director and cross‑functional teams to shape investment decisions from concept through post‑launch.
• Lead financial and volumetric modelling across the Stage Gate process (G1‑G5), performing size‑of‑prize and scenario analyses.
• Assess profitability, value creation, risk and cannibalisation throughout the pipeline.
• Manage innovation budgeting, rolling forecasts and portfolio trade‑offs, ensuring disciplined assumptions.
• Provide performance insight versus Stage Gate expectations, budget and latest estimates.
• Support OPEX and CAPEX investment governance, translating analysis into decision‑ready recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to unlock additional value by embedding deeply in innovation activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related discipline.
• 4–5+ years experience in commercial finance, business partnering, FP&A or innovation finance.
• Experience in FMCG, beverages or multinational environment is highly regarded.
• Strong stakeholder management with ability to influence without authority.

Required skills

• Financial modelling, including volumetric modelling and investment appraisal.
• Understanding of P&Ls, pricing mechanics, cannibalisation and portfolio trade‑offs.
