About the role

As a Finance Business Partner at carsales, you will work closely with Australian business leaders to provide trusted financial advice, challenge assumptions, and support strategic and operational decisions. The role sits within the commercial finance team and contributes to the company’s vision of being the global leader in online vehicle marketplaces.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to deliver financial insight, challenge thinking, and influence decision‑making.
• Lead the preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, and long‑range plans.
• Analyse performance data and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Identify opportunities, risks, and continuous‑improvement initiatives across the business.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment of financial and commercial objectives.

Required profile

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear, concise manner.
