Fibre Technician – Rotational Projects across Melbourne, Adelaide & NT

About the role
Stowe Australia, one of Australia’s largest electrical and communications contractors, is seeking experienced Fibre Technicians to join its Melbourne office. The role involves supporting a variety of projects across Melbourne, Adelaide and the Northern Territory on a 3‑week rotational basis.
Key responsibilities
- Perform fibre optic splicing and jointing works.
- Assemble connectors and terminate fibre, including polishing and end‑face finishing.
- Test and fault‑find fibre optic networks.
- Prepare fibre, handle cables and haul them over long distances.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and safety on site.
- Work effectively in diverse project environments and remote locations.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, project teams and clients.
Required profile
- Proven experience in fibre splicing, connector assembly, termination and testing.
- Ability to work away from home on a rostered, 3‑week rotational basis.
- Strong commitment to safety; current White Card/Construction Induction.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- ACMA Open Cabling Registration or relevant telecommunications qualifications (highly regarded).
- Cert III in Telecommunications or equivalent, or Cert III Electrical / A‑grade electrical licence (desirable).
- Experience on construction, communications or infrastructure projects, preferably in remote or regional locations.
- First aid and relevant site tickets (EWP, Working at Heights) are advantageous.
